Energy Efficiency for your House

It is now possible to get 100% grants for upgrading the insulation of a property if it is occupied by someone on the following types of benefit:

  • Income Support

  • Housing Benefit

  • Council Tax Benefit

  • Disabled Persons' Tax Credit

  • Income-based Job-Seekers' Allowance

  • War Disablement Pension

  • Attendance Allowance

  • Industrial Industries Disablement Benefit

  • Child Tax Credit

  • Working Tax Credit

  • Disability Living Allowance

  • Disability Living Allowance

  • Pension Credit

If you are a landlord with a property occupied by a tenant on any of the above types of benefit you could get your property insulated, and its value increased for nothing! Given that the main point of the Home Information Pack legislation is to force Energy Performance Certificates to be issued for all UK housing stock, with penalties for owners whose houses are not up to standard this could be a great benefit.

If you are a tenant who is on one of these benefits, contact your agent or landlord today to alert him to this scheme.
